Would you like to create a social network of your own?

This is a genuine offer
Read on…

It’s clear that we have some incredibly creative and intelligent people around the Campfire already. As an April Fools teaser (it’s real!) we are offering you the opportunity to set up your own social network.

Sounds too good to be true? Here’s the plan…

If you’re someone who has a specific interest or passion and some friends you’d like to share this with, our Mighty Network is now in a position to offer you a Circle where you can create your own brand of magic.

You would be host (solo or with others), you could decide on your own topics (which help define your space and are used to tag posts, your members can also subscribe to the ones that interest them), you can promote and run your own Zoom meet ups easily from the Events page and also have full ability to direct message all your members (which Facebook doesn’t offer). As well, the core of your space would be posts – you and your members’ quick posts and blog style articles are available for everyone.

Your space could be public or private, free or paid, so a potential revenue earner for you and the community.
There’s no limit to how many Circles we can set up, but for now we’d like to invite this offer as a celebration of our moving to an exciting new space.

So here’s what to do:

1 – Write a couple of paragraphs outlining your vision and why you’d like your own space. What would the subject / name of it be? Give us an idea of some of the topics you’d include (see how Campfire’s topics are set up for example).

You might want to focus on something that we already have included in one of our topics in more depth, for example, like a book club, film club, music space or rambling or it may be a more specialised interest like kite surfing, a political movement such as Flatpack Democracy or building pizza ovens. Or it might be geographically based around your locality. I’m actually working on a micro-site within Campfire along these lines, which would be around House Swapping.

2 – Consider whether you’d want events, face to face (whatever size) or Zooms, or both, for example.

3 – Think about anyone else you’d like to include in the launch, a friend who could also be a host and post, for instance.

Message me directly on this Campfire Mighty Network with your plan.

That’s it. No catch, no fees. All you need to do is to send in your suggestions to me, ideally by the end of this weekend April 3rd as we’d love to include you in our Mighty Network launch week and help guide you through the steps on Zoom too.

Happy sparking of new ideas !
