Real life really is way stranger than fiction in this bizarre music documentary. Off the top of my head it’s got Spies, disguises, drug lords, cartels, corruption, George W Bush, people peeling off their skin off like they do in Scooby Doo and Mission Impossible, pop music, rock music, really shit ballads that people inexplicably love, Ozzy Osbourne shitting his pants, Nina Simone, jazz music, Louis Armstrong, massive drug deals, cocaine, people getting shot, rock clubs run by the KGB, The East German Stasi, Tupac Shakur, Bon Jovi, The Scorpions, Black Sabbath, Skid Row, Patrice Lamumba, secret agents, handlers, CIA, misinformation – the whole thing is mind boggling and possibly one of the silliest / stupidest / maddest things I’ve ever heard. And the song that the whole thing is based on is definitely one of the worst songs I’ve ever heard in my life..!
It’s easily up there with my previous favourite podcast = S-Town.
